United Nations Association (UNA) Pasadena/Foothills Chapter...
A Better World Starts Here

The mission of the United Nations Association (UNA) Pasadena/Foothills Chapter is to generate local awareness and support of the United Nations and its commitment to achieving global peace, justice and freedom.

A high priority for the Chapter is to raise awareness and encourage action on the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which are:

1) Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2) Achieve universal primary education
3) Promote gender equality and empower women
4) Reduce child mortality
5) Improve maternal health
6) Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
7) Ensure environmental sustainability
8) Develop a global partnership for development.

	The United Nations Association Pasadena Foothills Chapter is proud to support and promote 34 Million Friends of the United Nations Population Fund and to help cofounder Jane Roberts coordinate her activities in support of this grassroots movement for the health and human rights of the women of the world. UNFPA helps the most vulnerable women in the world plan their families, give birth safely, and protect themselves from HIV/AIDS. It promotes gender equality in education for girls and works worldwide to eliminate gender-based violence.
